featuring the water canels on MArs of 1906 thus it means that water exist on Mars indicates that Early news of Mars as having been a civilazation could perhaps be correct?

1909: W. W. Campbell of Lick Observatory, tries to measure water vapor in the Martian atmosphere using spectroscopy from an expedition to Mount Witney. Results are negative and he (correctly) concludes that the Martian atmosphere is extremely arid compared to the Earth.
